Ruhul Amin of Savar filed a case of cheque dishonour in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court of Dhaka in 2024. The trial of the case progressed a long way in two years.

The case was transferred from the CJM court to the Seventh Joint District and Sessions Judge’s Court in Dhaka. Testimony was taken in the case in January this year.
The rapidly progressing case came to a halt in February. The plaintiff in the case is apprehensive about the commencement of the case proceedings in the CJM court after the transfer process is completed.
Similarly, a person named Abdullah Al Mamun filed two cases against Alesha Mart Chairman Manjur Alam Sikder in 2022. The case was transferred to the Third Joint Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court in Dhaka in 2023.

The trial process has been stalled for almost a year after the charge was framed in that court. Even though the date has been set, the case has not progressed due to the new law. Although the case was supposed to be transferred to the CMM court, it has not yet arrived.
